When looking around mine I decided I wanted to turn one of my corner stands into an apothecary station. Of course, a centerpiece on my bar, something on my counter, and a centerpiece on my kitchen table.
DIY Halloween Kitchen Decor Ideas
1. Kitchen Table DIY Halloween Kitchen Decor
Halloween Chair Covers – First, get some skeleton chair covers from Dollar Tree. That’s right the Dollar Tree has some really cute skeleton ones that are super cute. Moreover, you can’t beat only spending $1.25 each. That will really add a fun touch to your dining room table decor.
Halloween Place Mats – I found some really cute jack-o-lantern place mats as seen in the picture. They are really cute. We found these at Big Lots and they have some cute spider web ones also, and really cute skeleton head ones. I would’ve gotten the skeleton head ones as those were super cute but couldn’t find enough of them.
Wine glasses – I used hot glue to glue rhinestones to some nice wine glasses that had indentations. The red goblets I used were found at a thrift shop. If having a Halloween dinner party, make sure that you have plenty of cool glasses for all.
Table Centerpiece – 2-Tier Stand – I found a nice 2-tier fruit stand at a thrift shop. You can use any 2-tier or 3-tier stands. If you don’t already have one at home, check out thrift stores as that can really help save you some money.
Next, I bought a cute wooden box sign from Dollar General, A set of Arms/hands, a creepy black cloth, and a plastic skull from Dollar Tree.
To assemble it I used a drill to make a hole in the bottom of the skull and attached it to the top ball of the stand. Secondly, I draped the creepy black cloth over the stand. Next, I put in the block sign and then zip-tied the arms to the stand. You could easily use cable ties if you have those.
You can leave it simple as I did or feel free to add more decor to your tiered stand.
2. Bar or Island DIY Halloween Kitchen Decor
Witches Area on Bar Or Island – I used an old artificial plant pot. I spray-painted it black. You can use any type of item like this. And I used a lazy susan that I already have.
Placing the pot on top of the lazy susan gave some space to put jars and other decorations on the lazy susan.
I purchased a witch, a wooden sign, and the hocus pocus cauldron from the Dollar Store. The small wooden witch hats and the witch fingers are from Dollar General, and the crystal ball is from the 99-cent store.
The cauldron is filled with water and creates steam. It is really cute and well worth $5. The inside of the bowl lights up and changes colors also. Kids would absolutely love it!
The crystal ball is very plain and simple and has a light that turns on at the bottom. You can definitely spruce it up and create an even better look if you want.
I also used a soda bottle that I dripped down with melted red wax and used other accessories for a neat look.
3. Counter DIY Halloween Kitchen Decor
Bloody Wine Glass Set Up – This is a great decoration for a kitchen island, bar, or counter. I had fun with this cute idea. We had some fun experimenting with making fake bloody wine glasses and wine. A red candle dripping over a wine bottle did work out okay as you can see in the picture. I also dipped the top of the wine bottle into the hot melted wax.
For the wine glasses, which I bought at a thrift shop, I used fake makeup blood. I just dripped some of it down the glasses. In addition, we then poured some into the glasses.
The tray, sign, and the rat were from the Dollar Tree. Add whatever fun or creepy decorations to add to your fun wine setup.
This is one of my top best Halloween kitchen decor ideas. I love wine and this turned out really cute.
4. Another Counter or Bar DIY Halloween Kitchen Decor
Treat Station – This is a fun way to display your yummy treats for your family. I used a black basket on top of a white stand.
For containers you can use clear glass or plastic ones you upcycle. Find different-sized containers in your house that you can repurpose. Glass jars such as jelly jars, mason jars, pickle jars, and spaghetti sauce jars are easy to use after washing.
Fill them with candy corn, ghost marshmallows, candy pumpkins, pumpkin seeds, and other fun Halloween treats.
I used a mason jar, and I glued a skeleton head on the top. You can add some spider webbing for hair.
Adding in some cute wooden signs is a great way to finish it off.
If you are having party guests you could have out some bowls of candy. And some little mandarins that you draw jack-o lantern faces or spooky faces on. Don’t forget about yummy cupcakes in cute cupcake liners. Halloween candy and desserts can be incorporated into your diy Halloween idea in the kitchen.
5. Another Counter DIY Halloween Kitchen Decor
Counter by stove top – You can create some fun looks around your stove top.
We found a package of spiders made from black paper that we applied to the brick around our stove top and on the counter. You can easily make your own spiders with black construction paper or even tissue paper.
Your kids can have fun making spiders with ping-pong balls, googly eyes, and black pipe cleaners. Use black spray paint, black paint, or a black Sharpie to color the ping pong ball black.
Using a hot glue gun to glue googly eyes and pipe cleaners to the ball is the easiest but if you have kids making them use a glue stick. As a result, they turn out really cute and are an easy craft to make and a fun playful decor for kids.
We also made a spider web chandelier with a black plastic spider web bowl, a hanging pot chain, fake spider webs, spider rings, and some plastic spiders from the dollar tree.
6. Another Counter DIY Halloween Kitchen Decor
Counter in the Kitchen – Items already in your kitchen can be used to create easy Halloween decorations.
I used a giant wine glass that I turned upside down inside a cute Halloween-decorated bowl. Next, I then added a black decorating mesh and wound it around the top to bottom of the wine glass. I purchased a pack of 2 arms with hands from the dollar store and pushed those into the mesh with the hands sticking out.
It gave a cute body-like look with arms/hands. I then placed a plastic skull on the top of the stem of the wine glass.
This can be fun diy projects that won’t take much time to make and very inexpensive if using items, you already have.
7. Corner Stand or Shelving:
Corner of the kitchen – This to me is one of the best DIY Halloween decorations for the kitchen. I turned a corner shelf into an apothecary station. There are so many DIY decorations that you can make for this.
You can go simple and cheap and use your own bottles and containers with your labels on them or you can buy some already made.
First, spray paint some jars, containers, or bottles black to have a creepy look. Then print out some fun apothecary labels online and glue them on. If you want to get extra creepy, glue on some fake bugs and get creative. As a result, using Spanish moss, spider webs, or crumpled-up decorative paper can add a fun look.
Get some cheap plastic skulls, a plastic skeleton, ghost candles or any kind, wooden signs like I have shown in the picture, a rat, and other creatures or insects, and some mini lights.
As a result, it can create a really fun look and your whole family can get involved and in the holiday spirit.
If you are going very simple, then take a look at the picture above. To illustrate, I simply used a cute Halloween bowl on top of our lazy susan and put the napkins, salt and pepper shakers, and a decorated jar full of candy in it.
There are so many other spots in your kitchen that you can decorate too.
You can always decorate the kitchen door with a cute witch or something. Similarly, if you have an open doorway, you could hang a spider or bat mobile from it.
If you are looking for easy projects this bat mobile is pretty simple. It can be hard for little kids to assemble but if they are older, it would be easy.
If you are up to hanging decorations from the kitchen ceiling you could try hanging spiders and spider webs, witches’ hats, candles, or bats. Use some fishing line to hang them so they look like they are floating.
In addition, add in some cute Halloween kitchen towels hanging from your oven, dishwasher, or wherever you hang them.
Don’t forget about your kitchen cabinets if you want to decorate them. I just did an easy cobweb scene with spiders for a creepy look. You could also use bats to stick to the cabinets.
If you want to decorate your kitchen windows it can differ depending on how your window/windows are. Mine have shutters so it really wasn’t an easy way to decorate unless I stuck spiders, bats, or cobwebs from them.
It’s fun to decorate inside your house for Halloween. There can be many different places to decorate inside your home for the Halloween season. In addition, you need to check out my Halloween decoration ideas for other areas in your home.
Have a terrific time decorating your kitchen with your family!
On the other hand, don’t forget about the outside of your house too. I have some great ghost ideas you may want to check out.
Finally, whether you decorate your house spooky and scary or just simply cute for Halloween it will enhance your holiday experience. And of course, the kids will love it!
So, get busy with your DIY Halloween kitchen decor first.

Those chair covers are so cute! Thank you for sharing. I’m running to my dollar tree tomorrow to see if they have them. Fingers crossed!
Chris says
They really are cute and pretty good quality, especially being so cheap. They can be easily wiped down if needed. And it looks cute when someone is sitting in the chairs. Hopefully, you can find some!
